thisisgrimsby site says Colgan is a doubt tonight. http://www.sportgrimsby.co.uk/football/ ... ticle.htmlHowever rumour on the fishy is that Colgan is refusing to play tonight.... http://www.thefishy.co.uk/cgi-bin/forum ... 280476728/Whether true or not we can only guess. My first impression is always "Is it part of a hate campaign?", but the fact that the poster seems quite well respected makes me believe it maybe true. At the end of the day we may never know so up everyone what to believe... I hope he can prove himself as a professional - don the gloves, ignore the abusers and get on with it.... My god, what a sad mess this is all turning into...

SW, no-one condones yobbish behaviour or relentless abuse, but doesn't the phrase "Sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me" spring to mind ?
Ok not as simple as that I know, but if true, surely compared to what some brave people do in their lives(like risking them) he is not reacting in the proper way you would expect a professional to do?
I feel for the poor so and so too, but think he's partly responsible for how he chooses to react to it all as well.

Off course what most are forgetting that is that someone has just made this up and he may well be injured or he may well play tonight.

I would like to defend colgan [suprise suprise ]but if he fails to show up tonight i will give up hope on defending him i understand your phrase 80s but another 1 is "no one goes out meaning to do wrong"which is why people should be banned for such abuse of one of our players. i know he isnt the greatest keeper and he might only be at the club for the money as it looks like in some of his interviews but if the clubs picks him to represent the club we all love we should hope the best for him and cheer him on

Exactly Fitzy!
I appreciate as most do that Colgan is poor. I would however, never openly abuse him. I might berate him in conversation with mates but taking that to the terraces whilst he is playing will never be a positive move for anyone.
I feel ashamed of our fans at times. I will never be ashamed to be a town fan but sometimes we all get tarred with a similiar brush and I for one wish whoever pulls on a town shirt well.

http://www.sportgrimsby.co.uk/headlines ... ticle.html"Town boss Neil Woods was again forced to shuffle his pack with a raft of Mariners' first-teamers unavailable – mainly due to injury." If not injury then what else ?..... Not making any judgements either way here, just thought I would share the comment which on the face of it, appears significant. I just hope he doesn't have personal problems, wouldn't like to see any Town player being unable to play.

I was following the text commentry on the link you just gave 80s and i asked the commentator if the rumours were true and he said he got the news that colgan was injured 24 hours before the game. Wether he was telling a porkey or not i dont know but if the rumours are true then surley Woods would not hesitate in getting rid of him?
