Sorry but think that's unfair SW - Connell scored against Wednedsay after being set up by Peacock. Both Connell and Peacock hit the post against Gainboro. Both have been amongst Towns best 2 players so far this pre-season IMO. The fact they didn't have more chances might be something to do with a midfield unable to support or service a front pair(without pace) to give them the chances they need - same as last year maybe ? Very easy to blames strikers for a lack of goals but I also think there were many many factors that we went down last year, Colgan being one of them but by no means the only one either. So yes I do agree with you on that one..... Perhaps we can change the rules of the Conference and count hit posts as goals. My post was perhaps a bit scathing of the strikers, I should really have said the rest of the outfield players.

I am not incensed either way with the possible censorship, but I will not pay on top of my season ticket and make the effort to get to Blundell Park, to hear idiots slagging a Grimsby Town player.
I am ready to admit that Colgan is not the best keeper we have had in recent years; but I want no part of undermining a player who despite his frailties, should not be treated in this way. So you're saying it's as a protest in support of Colgan ? As far as I have read, it's only a very small number of idiots who are doing this.... Does that mean anyone else who goes supports it ? Of course not.... Don't mean to criticize you SW but your logic confuses me slightly... Do you think it would be best for the club if no-one turned up so there's no chance of it happening ? Don't you fear you're letting an idiot minority win over the club? I may change my mind later if my friend wants to go simply because it's his birthday and he's dithering, but right now, looks like we're both not going, but for different reasons....

SW - There is a FREE ticket at the front of your season ticket book for the two home friendlies! Obviously tonight will need the 2nd one.

Tonight is a cup game, it is not a friendly. It was not a game we chose to play, it is one we are schedueled to play, a bit like Scunny on Tuesday if we win.

SAS thanks very much for your reply, I had logged off before seeing it. I think you realised from another post that you had to pay. I'm pleased you went and I enjoyed your report, well done and it was a great result.
I will look forward to hopefully seing you, I wil be attending every game from now on.
Well it was a promising result and I'm delighted; I had become a bit downhearted about the lack of goals.
80s. You are a great guy and I love your dedication and postings. However, I work on my pc 40-50 hours a week and I haven't the energy to enter into long debates; perhaps like Horny and many of the others, I just want to chip in with a quick thought or perhaps a bit of humour.
So, I may go back to viewing instead of posting regularly again. My not going last night was for 2 reasons, 1 I am not a great one for friendlies and the Lincs Cup and the second, as a sensitive and caring person, it hurts me to hear a town player abused.
Obviously I have not bought a season ticket not to go when the season starts, so if it continues, I will just have to put up with it. However, I don't like it and it wouldn't hurt if Colgan does play, for the rest of us to show him a bit of support, if only by giving him a good round of applause.
So I back you there too 80s, but it's unlikely that I will spend time responding to any replies, as I am spending far more time than I want to on here.

No problem SW I fully understand and sorry to throw so many questions at you. And you certainly don't need to justify yourself to me so my apologies, I was just interested in your views. Just reply as you wish - last thing I want is for you to feel you cannot post because I am asking for responses and you feel obliged to answer - it's entirely up to you how much you want to post and what to answer. Just ignor me if you like, I really won't mind It seems Colgan was not in the squad last night. We will see if we have seen the last of him but agree if we have not, that we should try to support him and the team.

I like to come in like a rapier, with a quick thrust and out. Probably why I've never had much success with the women. Shall we begin the clap for Clogan campaign; no inuendo meant.

ziggy wrote: I'm with you on this one 80's Glory. Looks like admin are censoring the feelings of the fans on Colgan, freedom of speech seems to be lost. We, the fans, pay this guys wages and should be allowed to comment on issues that he has brought to the table. He is not in love with this club and the majority of fans feel the same about him. I had to suffer his miserable display last season and feel I have the right to comment. The polls have been straight forward should he stay or go,no slanderous statements, just honest fans who hand over their hard earned cash wanting to voice their opinion, albeit tongue in cheek. If this is the way to go then why post on the gtfc site. UTM I agree Fenty meddling is wrong. Whether club likes it or not Colgan has expressed his wishes to leave then let him go what are they thinking. He also in our hour of need at burton came out with one of the most stupidiest pre game interview with being so full of himself with clear counter productive negatives which also had a clear pop at woods management. He so unprofesional its laughable when woods says he is profesional. If he had done just an average job in goal we would likely got at least 5 more points which would been survival. He was not the only one who failed his duty to keep us up but he was a major reason why we went down. His antics or failed basic goalkeeping did not half destroy confidence with some and atitude. He not even good enough to be number 2 or even a wise choice. Croudson even with a dodgy arm better and Young peet may show yet he 1,000 times better than him too. Fenty dont take fans for an idiot. Colgan not wanted for a reason. Send him on loan to a sunday league side he only just good enough.

Shall we begin the clap for Clogan campaign; no inuendo meant. Oh you are a very funny man SW... I'm not part of the Barry White school of love either - more like the hokey cokey... Just so long as you hit the back of the net, it doesn't matter how much the balls go over the line.
